Description
No 1 Palace Hill Terrace is a mid to late 18th century building located on the north side of Eastborough. It is two storeys high, with an attic and basement, and features rusticated cement rendering on brick. The building originally had decorative bands over the windows and a parapet. The roof is gable-ended and covered with old pantiles, and there are two flat-roofed dormers. The front facade is symmetrical with four sash windows that have altered glazing. The door, located in the second bay from the right, consists of six fielded panels and is topped by an arched radiating fanlight with a wreathed design. The doorcase has a panelled reveal and soffit, with an architrave that includes roundel corner blocks. Scroll brackets support a broken entablature and an open pediment. The interior has been modernised.
Nos 1 to 7 Palace Hill Terrace, along with the steps, rails, and terrace, form a cohesive and attractive group.
