Description
The gate piers and attached walls, located approximately 50 metres west of Nunnington Hall, date from the late 17th century. The wall attached to the north pier was rebuilt around 1980. The gate piers are made of limestone ashlar and stand about 4.5 metres high, constructed from bolstered blocks and featuring a moulded cornice along with ball and pedestal finials. The wall to the east is approximately 2.4 metres high, sloping up to 3.6 metres high, and has cambered coping. The wall to the north is stepped and has altered coping, which is not considered of special interest. Any buildings against the outer side of the wall are also not of special interest.
