Description
This is a pair of houses known as the House occupied by Mrs Buckland and Thwaite Cottage, dating from the early 18th century with later alterations. They are built from coursed sandy limestone and feature a pantile roof with brick stacks. The left part consists of two low storeys and two bays, while the right side has a one-storey, three-window range and a one-storey, one-window end at the far right.
The left end has a six-panel door with a small fixed light to the left. To the right of the door is a two-light, six-pane horizontal-sliding sash window. In the centre, there is a small four-pane fixed light, and the right bay is blank. On the first floor to the left, there is another two-light, six-pane horizontal-sliding sash window. All ground-floor openings feature painted timber lintels. There are stacks at the centre and right end. Thwaite Cottage, located on the right, is accessed from the rear and has all two-light horizontal-sliding sash windows with small panes, except for the far right window, which has large panes. All windows also have painted timber lintels, and there is a centre ridge stack.
