Description
Number 5 and Elleron are two houses dating from the late 18th century. They are constructed from coursed rubble stone with a dressed sandy limestone front, featuring pantile roofs and brick stacks. Number 5 has a two-storey, two-window front with a one-storey, one-window extension on the left side. Elleron, located on the right, has a higher two-storey, two-window front.
The entrance to Number 5 is at the rear, and all its windows are two-light, six-pane horizontal-sliding sashes with painted stone sills. The main front ground floor windows have painted tooled lintels, while the remaining windows have painted timber lintels. Both houses have end stacks.
Elleron features a four-panel door that is accessed by a flight of steps and is flanked by 20th-century cross windows, all with painted tooled lintels. The first floor has two-light, twelve-pane horizontal-sliding sashes with painted timber lintels, and all windows have painted tooled sills. Elleron is included for its group value and for being part of the same build as Number 5.
