Description
Middleton Grange is an early to mid-18th century farmhouse and cottage constructed from local pinkish brick in an English garden wall bond. The building features a moulded eaves cornice and has a roof that has been renewed with concrete tiles, complete with stone copings and kneelers, and end chimneys.
The farmhouse is two storeys tall and has four windows, although the inner windows on the first floor are blocked and painted to resemble windows. The other windows are sashes with glazing bars, and they are topped with gauged brick arches that have keystones and stone cills. The cottage, also two storeys, has two windows featuring Yorkshire sashes and a boarded door, along with one modern casement window. There are blocked pigeon holes in the gable end of the cottage.
Inside, there is a notable staircase with turned balusters and a closed string, as well as many panelled doors.
