Range of Agricultural Buildings Approximately Five Metres North East of Crabtree House

This range of agricultural buildings, located approximately five metres northeast of Crabtree House, dates back to 1881. Originally serving as stables for farm horses, a turnip house, and a blacksmith's shop, it has since been converted into piggeries. The structure is built from snecked sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings, featuring 20th-century clay interlocking tile and clay pantile roofs.

The buildings are single-storey and decrease in height as they follow the slope of the hillside. The ashlar dressings exhibit herringbone tooling and draughted margins, and the quoins are prominent. The openings are quoined with rounded arrises. From left to right, the first section is the stables, which includes a part-shuttered window, a wide opening, another part-shuttered window, and a roof covered with 20th-century clay interlocking tiles. Next is the turnip house, featuring a part-shuttered window, double sliding board doors, a stable door, and another part-shuttered window, all beneath a 20th-century clay interlocking tile roof. The blacksmith's shop has no openings but includes an ashlar square corniced eaves chimney and a 20th-century clay pantile roof.

On the right return, the gable features a pointed-arched stone with a recessed panel inscribed with a ligatured date, along with a triangular pigeoncote. Inside the stable entrance, which was originally open to the yard beyond but has since been blocked, the area where farm horses were harnessed is evident. The good stonework continues on both sides, with matching doors and windows, and there are pitching doors leading to haylofts above. The stable on the left contains wooden stalls and king-post roof trusses.
