Description
The gate piers to the south drive of Hartforth Hall were built in the early to mid 19th century for the Cradock family. They are made of ashlar sandstone featuring herringbone tooling and draughted margins. There are two gate piers, which are square in plan and have chamfered bases, square abaci, convex caps, and ball finials. These gate piers share the same design as the nearby gate piers located southeast of No 1 Hartforth Village. They served to enclose the grounds of Hartforth Hall from Hartforth village.
