Description
Brooms Field Barn is a hay barn, likely built in the early 19th century, for the Cradock family of Hartforth Hall. The barn is constructed from rubble with Welsh slate roofs. It features a three-bay main range and a single-bay lower range to the south. The main range has quoins and three straight-headed full-height openings, each separated by quoins on the piers, topped with a hipped roof. The lower range includes a doorway with an ashlar surround and a window. On the left side of the lower range, there is a castellated gable divided into three sections, with the central section projecting slightly. This central section has a blind pointed arch and a horizontal top edge, while the outer sections are blank with sloping top edges.
