Description
The garden walls surround Hartforth Hall, likely dating to the late 18th century and constructed for the Cradock family. The walls are built of brick and rubble, forming an irregular quadrilateral. The north and south sides, which are the longer ones, were originally heated. The brick walls on the north, west, and south sides have stone slate coping, and board doors are set within segmental-arched openings on the north and south sides. The east walls are of rubble with swept tops and enclose workshops and bothies. Glass houses remain in the northeast corner.
