Description

No. 20 Eastgate is an 18th-century building of two storeys and attics, constructed of coursed rubble and featuring a pantile roof with a stone coped gable end, including kneelers and three gabled dormers. The front elevation has three windows, each a hung sash with glazing bars, set beneath stone lintels. The ground floor incorporates two canted bay windows, and a mid-19th century doorway with pilasters and a cornice resting on carved consoles. Above the doorway is a round-arched fanlight, and the door itself consists of six fielded panels, accessed by three steps. The building forms a group with Nos. 18 to 25 and Nos. 30 to 37.
