Marked on Ordnance Survey map as Swinton Sawmill. Cotton mill, now sawmill, and house. C18 and C19. Coursed squared stone with ashlar dressings, graduated stone slate and machine pantile roof. L-shape in plan. Sawmill on left, central range, house on right. Sawmill: 1 storey, 1 bay. Gabled front: double board door under segmental arch with voussoirs; above is a 16- pane side-sliding sash with cement lintel and sill. Central range: 2 storeys, 2 bays. Board door to left, 2 casements to right, with 4-pane sashes above; on far right to first floor a 1/2-glazed door. Roof hipped to left. House: raised in height; 2 storeys, 2 bays. 1/2-glazed door with overlight in left-hand bay; to right a 4-pane sash with plain stone surround. First floor: 4-pane side-sliding sash with lintel on left. To right a 3-light side-sliding sash with plain stone surround and 1 flat-faced mullion. Graduated stone slate roof. End stacks. Interior: sawmill contains working mid C19 saw machinery. To left of central block is large overshot waterwheel.
