Description

Quarry Gill Bridge, built in 1811, and the Old Quarry Gill Bridge beneath it, constructed in 1822, were designed by John Foss for William Danby of Swinton Castle. The bridges are made of coursed square stone and ashlar. The lower bridge from 1811 features a round arch, while the upper bridge has three tall pointed arches with hood-moulds, flanked by offset pilaster buttresses. There is a chamfered band and a chamfered embattled parapet.
