PLOMPTON PLOMPTON HALL North, east and south walls to former garden to east of Plompton Hall

GV II

North, east and south walls to former gardens of Plompton Hall. Late C18. For Daniel Lascelles as part of the Plompton Hall estate. Red brick, English bond, ashlar coping. North wall: approximately 6 metres high, buttressed at intervals, no openings. East wall: approximately 1.5 metres shows above the ground level which is banked up on both sides. 3 large buttresses built against it on east side. Wall ramped up to meet north and south walls. South wall: approximately 4 metres high. Narrow gateway at east end. A brick arched gateway links the west end of the north wall to the south end of the east range of the farm buildings (q.v.).
