Description
The entrance gateway to the south of Ayton Hall is a Grade II listed structure, likely dating from the early 19th century. It features gate piers and adjoining walls made of coursed squared cut stone. The gateway includes two quadrant walls with sloped copings that end in square piers topped with flattened pyramidal caps at the roadside. The inner piers are rusticated and have a plinth, cornice, and pyramidal finials set on stepped bases with necks. The modern wooden gates are not considered of special interest.
