Description
The former tithe barn, located approximately twenty metres south-west of The Old Rectory, is a building from the late 17th to early 18th century, likely constructed for Reverend William Smith. It is currently used as a garage and for storage. The barn is built of rubble with a pantile roof, featuring stone slates at the eaves. It has two storeys and four bays. On the ground floor, there is a 20th-century garage door to the left and a blocked ashlar doorway to the right. The first floor has slit vents and raised verges. At the rear, there is a blocked cart-entry opposite the doorway. Inside, the barn features three principal rafter roof trusses with original low collars and high collars, some of which appear to have been replaced.
