Description
This is a mid-to-late 18th-century house, now divided into two separate dwellings. It is constructed of red-brown local brick, with a pantile roof, and features chimneys at the ends and along the ridge, specifically the second bay from the left. The house is two storeys high, with an irregular arrangement of four first-floor windows. Originally, it was designed with a lobby-entry plan.
At number 137, the central front door is a 4-panel design with an oblong fanlight enclosed within a doorcase featuring consoles supporting a pediment. Flanking this door are 19th-century canted bays with sash windows. Number 139 has a more modern door with an oblong fanlight and margin lights, set within a wooden architrave, likely reflecting the original entry point. A 19th-century canted bay with sash windows is positioned to the left of this door. A stepped band runs across the first floor. The first-floor windows are sash windows, with those at number 137 being tripartite. The building is included on the register for group value considerations.
