Description
Crawford House is a house dating from the early 19th century, with later additions from the 19th century. It is constructed of pale brown brick with stucco dressings and features a concrete tile roof with end chimneys. The building has two storeys and three bays, with the side bays stepping forward and being enhanced by full height canted bays that contain sash windows. The central bay also projects forward and features a full height round-arched recess with a stucco arch. A flight of brick and stone steps, accompanied by elegant iron railings, leads to the central entrance, which consists of a six-panel door with jamb lights and a large patterned radial fanlight beneath a stucco lintel. There is a stucco band at the first floor level, and above the entrance, a sash window with later 19th century glazing is topped by a stucco fan. The parapet is adorned with a stucco band that forms an open pediment over the central recess.
