Description

The Old School is a building, originally constructed as a school in 1852, although it has earlier origins. It has been converted into a house. The exterior is built from rockfaced limestone ashlar and rubble, with a pantile roof. It is a single-story building. An ogee-arched doorway, now a window, is flanked by further ogee-arched windows, all with brick arches. A datestone above the central window reads "This school was rebuilt by Col Cholmley AD 1852." A stack is located at the right-hand end. A 20th-century extension to the rear is not considered to be of particular architectural interest. The building is included on the list for its group value.
