Description
This pair of gatepiers, dating from around 1700, is located approximately 25 metres south of the Church of St Mary in Birkin. Constructed from magnesian limestone ashlar, the gatepiers are nearly square in shape and stand 3.75 metres high. They feature a plinth, plain piers, a pulvinated frieze, and a stepped cornice topped with ball finials.
