Description

The church, originally a chapel of ease, dates to the 17th century and was restored and altered in 1774 and the late 19th century. It is constructed of brick with brick dressings and a pantile roof, featuring brick coped gables and a dentilated eaves band. A small square wooden bellcote with a lead roof and ornate iron weather vane sits atop the south gable. The rendered plinth marks a rectangular plan. The south gable front has a single two-light flat headed window with cusped tracery and lead lattice glazing, positioned above a round headed blind opening. The west front features a single pilaster buttress and a single two-light flat headed window with cusped tracery and lead lattice glazing. A single 20th-century external brick stack is located to the right. The north gable wall contains another two-light window with cusped tracery and lead lattice glazing, set under a brick segmental arch. The east front has a single pilaster buttress and an off-centre doorway with a triple panel door under a moulded brick head. To the left is a small single light window with cusped tracery and lead lattice glazing, alongside a larger two-light window. The interior features a plain pilaster ceiling and dado panelling. It contains late 19th-century wooden pews, a lectern, and an altar, along with a wooden and wrought iron altar rail. A single wooden charity board dated 1835 and a brass war memorial plaque from around 1920 are also present.
