The Church Stairs is a significant structure first mentioned in 1370. It consists of a flight of 199 stone steps leading up to the parish church. The stairs are likely mostly from the 18th century and 19th century, replacing an earlier traditional feature. The Church Stairs, along with Donkey Road, form an important group in the area.
