Description

Prospect House and Oakland's are a pair of houses dating from the late 18th century, located on the west side of Park Street, Masham. They are constructed of coursed squared stone with ashlar dressings, and have a graduated stone slate roof. The buildings are three storeys high and three bays wide, with a rear outshut to each. They have a plinth and quoins. Each house has a central four-panel door (the door at No. 30 dates from around 1980) with a plain stone surround and overlight. The ground and first floor windows are sash windows, set in plain stone surrounds. The upper floor windows at No. 30 are six-pane sashes, while those at No. 28 are four-pane side-sliding sashes. Shaped kneelers and stone coping are present, along with end stacks and a ridge stack between the two houses.
