Description
This is a cart-shed and granary dating from the early 19th century, located to the east of Kexmoor Farm in Kirkby Malzeard. The building is constructed from coursed squared stone with ashlar detailing and has a graduated slate roof. It stands two storeys high and features two bays. The corners are accentuated with quoins.
The gable end wall has two double board cart-shed doors set within segmental arch surrounds, which are adorned with voussoirs and flanked by buttresses on either side. Above these doors is a board door in a round-arched plain stone surround, featuring raised impost bands and a keystone. There is also a smaller, blind opening in the gable.
On the right side, there are stone steps leading up to the granary, while the left side has two hayloft doors in plain stone surrounds. Each side of the building is finished with a moulded stone eaves band.
