Description
Langlands is a farmhouse located in Morton upon Swale, dating from the mid to late 18th century, with a 20th-century extension. The building is constructed of brick and rendered, topped with a machine tile roof. It stands two storeys high and features four bays, with a single-bay, two-storey extension to the left that is not of special interest.
The entrance includes a 20th-century glazed door and overlight, framed by a mid-19th-century surround with pilasters, Ionic capitals, a frieze, and a dentilled cornice at the second bay. The three left-hand bays have sash windows, except for the third bay, which has a 20th-century casement window on the first floor. The right-hand bay features a 20th-century casement window on the ground floor and a four-pane sash window on the first floor. All windows are fitted with stone sills. The building has an eaves band, shaped kneelers, and stone coping, along with end stacks and a ridge stack. At the rear, there is an arched stair window. Inside, there is a dog-leg stair with turned balusters.
