Description

Low Sober Farm is a farmhouse dating from the late 18th to early 19th century. It is constructed of red brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with a pantile roof. The main block is two storeys high and three bays wide. A lower kitchen wing projects at a right angle to the left return. A half-glazed double door is situated between the second and third bays, with a wooden sundial dated 1802 positioned above it. All windows are 16-pane sashes, resting on stone sills, and are topped with stuccoed flat arches containing incised voussoirs. The eaves are dentilled, with shaped kneelers and stone coping at each end and above the doorway. Chimneys are located at the ends of the building and on the ridge. Internally, there is a turned baluster staircase.
