Description

Melonsby Farmhouse, marked on the Ordnance Survey Map as Melsonby Farm, is a farmhouse dating from the mid-18th century, now used as a house. It is built of coursed sandstone with a pantile roof, featuring stone slates at the eaves. The building has two storeys and three bays, with a rear outshut. Notable architectural features include quoins, a central four-panel door with a narrow overlight, and an architrave that has bases, a pulvinated frieze, and a pediment. The windows are sash style with glazing bars, set within architraves. The farmhouse also has a cyma recta cornice, shaped kneelers, and ashlar coping, along with brick stacks at the ends.
