Description

A garden sculpture located in the grounds of Aldby Park, approximately 20 metres south of the house, dates from the early 18th century and is inspired by the work of John Nost. The sculpture features a pair of figures on a pedestal base made of limestone, standing about 2 metres high. The base consists of a square plinth and a squared pear-shaped pedestal, which is decorated with scrolls and stylised foliage. This is topped by a plain capital that supports two putti engaged in play.
