Description
Buttercrambe Mill is a water mill that has been converted into a house. It dates from the late 17th century or early 18th century and underwent restoration in the 20th century. The building is constructed of brick in Flemish bond and features a pantile roof with a brick stack. It has a gable end facing the road and stands two storeys high with an attic, comprising three bays. The central bay projects forward and is accentuated by rusticated brick quoins. A central 20th-century door is flanked by 20th-century casement windows, and there is another casement window on the first floor. All openings are framed with reconstructed keyed rusticated brick surrounds. A stepped band separates the first floor from the attic, which has a keyed oculus. The eaves feature stepped courses, and there are two stacks that rise through the pitch of the roof.
