Description
The Aldby Park Stable Block is an early 18th-century stable building located in Buttercrambe. It features a U-shaped plan, constructed from brick in English bond with ashlar dressings and quoins, topped by a pantile roof. The central section is two stories high with a gabled roof, flanked by single-story wings. The central section has a stone plinth and raised quoins, with a 20th-century board door at the carriage entrance, which is surrounded by quoined detailing. The first floor has a pitching door that is now blocked and replaced by a casement window set beneath a flat brick arch. The gable has a pediment with a blind oculus, topped by a weathervane. The outer wings feature stable doors also in quoined surrounds. The left wing has an unequal 9-pane sash window, while the right wing has a 6-pane sash window, both situated beneath flat brick arches. The outer wings are capped with hipped roofs.
