Description
Steg Neck Lock and Bridge Number 169 is a lock and accommodation bridge built around 1790, designed by engineer Robert Whitworth. It is constructed from dressed stone. The retaining wall of the lock is rebated for two sets of gates, with the upper gates made of steel and the lower gates made of wood. At the lower end of the lock, there is a segmental bridge featuring rusticated voussoirs, a band, and a solid parapet that ends in piers.
