Description
Winton House is a farmhouse built in the late 18th century and early 19th century. It features red brick and rubblestone construction with a Welsh slate roof. The building has two storeys and consists of five bays, with three central bays flanked by single-bay wings. The outer bays are lower at the eaves level, and the right-hand bay is made of rubblestone.
The left-hand central bay has a six-panel door with an overlight that includes ornamental glazing bars, all framed by a Doric surround with pilasters, a frieze, and a cornice. To the right of this door, between the central and right-hand central bays, is a large 16-pane sash window. The remaining windows are smaller 16-pane sashes, all featuring stone sills and flat brick arches. The building is topped with shaped kneelers and stone coping at each end and above the central three bays, and it has end stacks.
