Description
The dovecote, located approximately 200 metres south-west of Sleningford Park, is an 18th-century structure that now serves as an animal shelter. It is constructed from coursed rubble and cobbles, with ashlar quoins and a pantile roof featuring three eaves courses of stone slates. The dovecote has a square plan and stands two storeys high with one bay. The south front features a wide entrance with a shallow relieving arch above a timber lintel, and there is a square opening with a plain stone surround above it. The roof is pyramidal, but only the wooden framework of the lantern remains, and it is in poor condition. There are small square openings on the other three sides. The interior has not been inspected. This dovecote was built as part of a group with the barn and stables, which can be viewed from the driveway to Sleningford Park.
