Description

The Harlow Hill Water Tower, dating to circa 1902, is a circular structure built in a classical style. It is constructed of rusticated grit stone ashlar. The tower comprises three storeys, with an octagonal podium featuring a bracketed cornice. Tuscan pilasters run through the first and second floors, supporting a modified cornice. The podium includes arched recesses and a doorway with rusticated block dressings. First and second floor windows are pedimented, arranged in alternating bays with glazing bars. A modern metal water tank sits atop the tower, featuring a decorative corona and a small, central octagonal lantern with an ogee roof. A date plaque is recessed on the west side of the podium.
