Description
The Methodist Chapel in Marske is a building that includes living accommodation and dates from the late 18th century, with 19th-century and later alterations. It is constructed of rubble with a stone slate roof and has two storeys, although it is now partly a single storey. The chapel features a canted plan at the southern end and has quoins at the corners.
On the south elevation, the ground floor includes a board door and several blocked openings, which consist of the surround of a three-light mullion window and three blocked doorways. The first floor has, from left to right, two four-pane sash windows, two 20th-century casement windows, and a blocked two-light mullion window. There is a hipped roof to the right and a stack located between the first and second first-floor windows.
The north side has a board door, while the east end features round-arched small-paned windows with radial glazing bars on each of the canted sides; the outer windows are fixed lights, and the central window is a sash window. Inside, there are mid-19th-century pine fittings.
