Description
Sykes Farmhouse is a house that was formerly a farmhouse and barn, dating from the mid-18th century, with later alterations and a 20th-century rear service outshut. The building is constructed of coursed dressed sandstone and features a pantile roof with rebuilt brick stacks. It has a direct entry plan, consisting of two cells with opposed entries. The front is two storeys high and has two windows. There is a central boarded door and horizontal sliding sashes with glazing bars throughout. All openings are topped with plain stone lintels, and the building has stone coping and plain kneelers, with end stacks. Inside, a 19th-century wooden stair conceals a stone spiral stair in the room to the right.
