Description

The Blacksmith's Arms Inn is a public house dating to the late 17th century, with 19th and 20th century extensions to the rear and sides. It is constructed of coursed squared sandstone with a plain tiled roof. The building has a gabled front and is two storeys high, featuring a two-window arrangement. The original doorway now provides access to the bar from a 19th-century entrance hall located to the left. Three-light chamfered mullion windows with leaded square panes and stopped hood-moulds are present. A fire window with a plain stone lintel is on the left side. The rear and side extensions are not of particular architectural interest. Steeply pitched roofs are topped with end stacks. The interior, now a single room serving as a lounge bar, retains exposed chamfered joists. A fireplace with a bressummer is found in the original houseroom.
