Description

The railed enclosure and Thompson chest tomb, located approximately 12 meters north of the tower of the Church of St Peter and St Felix, date from the early to mid-19th century. The structure is made of ashlar sandstone and wrought iron. The chest tomb features a coped lid, balustered corners, and a plinth. Inscriptions on the lid and side panels commemorate members of the Thompson family, including James Thompson who died in 1823. Four octagonal corner posts support wrought-iron twisted rails with intermediate bars.
