Description
This chest tomb and railed enclosure, dating from the early 19th century, is located approximately 9 meters north of the remains of the Church of the Holy Trinity. The tomb is made of grey sandstone ashlar and features a moulded plinth, flanking fluted pilaster strips, raised and fielded side and end panels, and a moulded cornice on its chamfered top. The inscription on the tomb was illegible during the survey conducted in January 1987. Surrounding the tomb is a large wrought-iron railed enclosure, which includes spearhead railings and square-section standards topped with urn finials. The former Church of the Holy Trinity, now in ruins, was replaced by a new building in the village in 1887.
