Description

The White House is a stable block, coach house, and stable cottage that has been converted into a house, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of painted brick and features a graded slate roof. The building is positioned at right angles to the road and consists of one storey with an attic.

On the south front, there are brick ridge stacks located off-centre to the right and left. A large gabled full dormer, positioned off-centre to the right, contains a small-paned cast-iron Gothic metal casement window with intersecting Gothic tracery and a painted stone cill. The front has four windows: two small-paned cast-iron Gothic metal casements with intersecting tracery and painted stone cills on the left, and two two-light wooden casements on the right. Between the second and third windows from the right, there is a segmental-headed half-glazed door.

The rear features a two-light segmental-headed window in the gable, two cast-iron ground-floor windows to the left, and the former coach house and stable to the right. The coach house has an elliptical-arched entrance, while the stable has a segmental-headed stable door and a barred window. There is also a segmental-headed boarded loft door in the gable end to the west. This building was originally the stable block and coach house for the Red House in the village.
