Description
Lane End Farmhouse and Barn is a house and barn built in the early to mid-18th century, with later additions and alterations. The structure is made of coursed squared gritstone and features a graduated stone slate roof. The farmhouse is two stories high with two bays, while the barn, located to the left, has three bays. The building has quoins, and the house includes a board door on the right within a plain surround. The windows on the center and left are three-light with flat-faced mullions, although one mullion has been removed from each, except for the first-floor left window. There is a central rendered ridge stack on the house. The barn has a central cart entrance with a cambered arch and quoined jambs, which is partially blocked, along with flanking byre doors in plain surrounds. The left side of the barn features a shaped kneeler and gable coping, and there are two ventilators on the barn ridge. Attached bays to the right of the house are not of special interest. The interior was not inspected during the resurvey.
