Description
The premises occupied by the Richmond Operatic Society is an early to mid-19th century building originally constructed as Ebenezer Chapel. It is made of red brick with yellow brick dressings. The building features a gabled roof adorned with stone ball finials and a central urn. There are yellow brick end pilasters and additional pilasters flanking the central doorway. The gable includes a round window, while the façade has two windows with yellow brick arches and hung sashes that have 'Gothick' glazing bars. A similar glazing style is used for the fanlight above the plain double doors. The structure has a yellow brick plinth and a stone plaque on brackets above the door displaying its name. It is enclosed by iron rails and has the remains of an overthrow, along with four gatepiers topped with pyramidal stone caps. This building, along with Nos 41 to 47 (odd) and Nos 51 to 57 (odd), forms a cohesive group.
