Description

This is an 18th-century building on the west side of Bargate. It is three storeys high, constructed of uncoursed rubble faced with red brick and painted white. A stone base and quoins are visible, and the roof is covered with modern asbestos pantiles. A string course runs above and below the ground floor windows. Each storey has a single window, which lacks glazing bars. A modern door has been installed. The building forms a group with numbers 41 to 47 (odd), 51 to 57 (odd), and the premises occupied by Richmond Operatic Society.
