Description
Willow Bridge over Clow Beck is a disused road bridge, likely built in the late 18th century and widened upstream in the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed from rusticated ashlar and coursed rubble red sandstone. The bridge features a single segmental arch made of ashlar, with evenly spaced voussoirs and a slab hoodmould on the downstream side, while the upstream side is finished in rusticated ashlar. On both sides, there are 19th-century battered buttresses that flank the abutments, all made of rusticated ashlar. A band runs below the parapet, which is built in narrower courses. The abutments, made of coursed rubble, terminate in circular bollards. The bridge has been bypassed by a more modern road bridge and is partly located in the Civil Parish of Stapleton.
