Description
Barton Lodge is a house that dates from the 18th century and early to mid-19th century, with some alterations. It has a roughcast exterior and Welsh slate roofs, featuring an L-shaped plan with two and three storeys.
The road front has a right-hand range from the 19th century, which is two storeys high and consists of three bays. It has chamfered rusticated quoins, and the first bay on the ground floor, originally a door, has been converted into a window within an ashlar doorcase that features an open segmental pediment supported by pilasters. The ground floor has sash windows with glazing bars and architraves, along with cornices. The roof is hipped to the right, and there are octagonal ashlar chimneys, with three on the left end and paired ones on the right end.
The left-hand range is from the 18th century and has three storeys with three bays. It features sash windows with glazing bars and wedge lintels, although the windows in the central bay are blocked on the first and second floors. The roof is hipped to the left, and there is an entry in a single-storey porch that was added to the left return.
