Description

Jim Bowes' House and byre is a building dating from the 16th to 17th century, constructed of rubble with an interlocking black clay pantile roof. It stands two storeys high and features two first-floor windows. The building has quoins and double-chamfered mullioned windows. On the ground floor, there is a fire window, a three-light window beneath a replaced monolithic lintel, and a two-light window. The first floor has two-light windows. There are stacks located at both ends and in the centre of the building. To the left, the byre is set back and has a board door on each floor. At the time of re-survey, the building was derelict.
