Description
This is a barn located approximately 7 metres to the west of Barrowby Grange, dating from the late 17th century to the early 18th century. It is constructed from coursed gritstone rubble resting on a stone plinth, topped with a graduated stone slate roof. The barn features five bays with a single aisle on the north side and has opposed central cart entrances, one of which has a gabled porch. The entrances are fitted with plain plank doors, and there are small vents in the long walls. Inside, the barn has timber king-post trusses supported by corbels against the south wall and on arcade posts to the north. It is included in the heritage listing partly for its group value.
