Description

This milepost, located approximately 12 metres south of the junction with Sandhole Lane, dates from the early to mid-19th century. It is made of cast iron and has a triangular shape with a sloping top plate and no back. The lettering is in relief, indicating distances: 'London 201' on the top, 'York 5' on the left face, and 'Easingwold 8' on the right face.
