Description

This is a disused school building, dating to the late 18th century with alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed of rubble, partly roughcast, with a pantile roof. The building is single-storey and has three internal bays. It features quoins. The central entrance has a board door within a pointed-arched opening, with a raised surround that is at least partly of brick cement. To either side of the entrance are sash windows with glazing bars. The roof has raised verges with reversed crowstepping. A bellcote with a bell is situated on the left gable, alongside a brick stack at the right end. The left return gable features a circular opening with an ashlar surround. To the right is a lower, added range, likely a reading room, which is not of particular architectural interest. At the time of resurvey, the building was in a state of dereliction.
