Description
The gate piers, gates, and railings located approximately 300 metres southeast of Sleningford Park date from the early 19th century. They are constructed of wrought iron and ashlar stone. The gates consist of two leaves with bars topped by spear-head finials, and the lock-rail features decorative semicircles and scrolls. Each gate pier stands about 2 metres high and is topped with an entablature that includes paterae and a shallow pyramidal cap. The railings that connect the inner and outer piers are supported by an ashlar foundation wall and also feature bars with spear-head finials.
