Description

The gatepiers and gates to Stainley Hall were built in the late 18th century for the Staveley family. They are made of wrought iron and rusticated ashlar. The gates consist of two leaves with plain bars, featuring a ramped top adorned with a scroll motif and the initial 'S' at the center of the lock rail. Each gatepier stands approximately 2.5 meters high and has the inscription 'MANOR HOUSE' below a plain cornice, topped with a banded ball-and-cushion finial.
